Junk's Bio
Our compilation this month comes powered by the good folks at Samsung. We did a massive story this month on three hip-hop compilations pushing acts from around the region (and beyond). So we wanted to do our bit and help showcase a few of the songs you can find on these releases. There's also a track by Masia One, a Canadian rapper originally from Singapore. She will be making her rounds in our region to get the word out about herself. After many listens to all the songs on this month's compilation in our office, we realise this is one collection of songs you must listen to with your volume cranked up. Alright, here's what we've got for you this month:

01 Booty Call : DJ Fuzz ft Philly Roca (K Town Clan)-Booty call (Malaysia)
We can't think of a better track to start off this compilation. It's an infectious song that will make you want to act all stupid. K Town Clan's Philly Roca really does know how to get a lot of energy going. This track is off the new Mixology release.

02 Return Of The B Girl : Masia One [Canada/Singapore]
Masia One has plenty of solid rhyme. What I can't get over is how sultry and bad ass she sounds throughout the track. Guess that's no surprise with her rapping throughout the song, "I make it look easy." She certainly does that.

03 Falsafah Pendekar : Pendekar [Singapore]
This Malay-language tracks bursts with attitude. I really mean that. Pendekar really knows how to carry himself and makes me prop up and listen to every word. Even if you don't speak the language, you will no doubt be moved anyway. This track is on the XS compilation.

04 Larangan : Pamilia Dimagiba [Philippines]
This six-person hip hop group from the Philippines sounds furious on "Larangan." I have no idea what they are talking about but I want to keep bopping my head up and down the whole time. Definitely go drop by the group's site and find out more about them.

05 KL to Beirut : MC Moe, DJ Lethal Skillz & DJ Fuzz [Lebanon/Malaysia]
Here's another track from the new Mixology album. The track is out to do wonders for ties between South East Asia and The Middle East. Actually, who cares about politics, MC Moe has a great voice and this song will get under your skin.

06 Princesses : Mizz Nina , Noreen, Yacko, Mizz Eva, Hunny, LilShawty, Linda Onn, Mia, Daly & DJ Vanda [Malaysia/Indonesia]
This track features major ladies in the Malaysian and Indonesian hip hop scene. You can't get a better collaboration with a ton of ladies than this track!

07 Immaculate : Irfan [Singapore]
This track was supposed to be on the new EP. You could say this song is now a B-side. Not that listening to MP3s has an "A" or "B" side. What really matters is that this song is cool.

08 MC Struggle : NBE[Malaysia]
What I love about this track is the absolute honesty NBE puts into this track. The song is in Malay. NBE goes on about how the music scene in Malaysia isn't that great and how he's not going to get bummed out about that and continue doing his thing anyway.

09 Yellow Road : Yin Ts'ang [China]
Here's a group that has become a major force in Beijing's hip hop scene. If you need an introduction to what musicians of this genre are doing in mainland China, this track is it.

10 Sahabat : Batik Tribe [Indonesia]
This Indonesian group is quickly gaining ground in the Indonesian hip hop scene. There will be a full-length album coming out. In the meantime though, you can start getting into the group now with this great track.
