Singer, songwriter and pianist, Nadhira Nishaa has been mad about music for as long as she can remember. Like many musicians Nadhira's dream to become an accomplished artist has developed and shaped her style in many different ways over the years. Classically trained on the piano at London's Royal Academy of Music, at age 9 she dove head first into music, at first influenced by the running scales of Baroque and Johann Sebastian Bach.
More recently though, Nadhira has found a fondness for the music of Anggun, which carries influences from both Western and Eastern cultures. Personally, her style and her music is beyond a single genre description bending and fusing R&B, Blues, Rock, Reggae and Pop into a sound that is a reflection of the events in and around her own life experiences.
Nadhira also had the opportunity to travel a lot at a young age, living in London, Brunei and Jakarta as her father's job brought the family along. Exposed to different cultures she also discovered the depth of her music in "music theory" classe and learned to play drums, guitar, saxophone and violin. But her passion lay with the piano and her voice.
Currently Nadhira is hard at work on her debut recording project, finishing off a single release with Global City Music entitled "DO IT AGAIN". It's a silky smooth R&B track with Tatsuro's trademark production. Nadhira is featured on Laguna Record's all-female compilation "HER" for Digi and is working closely with Senegalese Reggae artist King Lhota. The two have completed a single called "KONVICT SOULJAH", which they've filmed a video for. Alongside her own music, Nadhira has done voice-over work and has been featured for Walt Disney's Toy Story as a female doll character. There is no doubt that Nadhira sets her ambitions high as she just loves experimenting with her capabilities.
Over the years Nadhira has performed at numerous band events around KL, Ipoh, Penang, JB, Langkawi and Jakarta. Recently she has performed at After 7 in Kuantan, Laundry Bar, Cloth & Clef, Quattro, Waikiki, Backyard, Paul's Place and at Sunburst Music Festival 2009.
