SummerPint jUNkie combines progressive, psychedelic-rock, grunge and metal set to today's culture and modes but also trying, in the process, to create music that is timeless. We've coined a genre for our music that we call 'Progressive Space-Grunge'. SPj has hard-hitting lyrics that are sung to unconventional time signatures and eclectic sounds. The band also aims to take on more of an electronic direction in its near-future ventures.
The band's commercial gig repertoire includes:
Runners-up at: Horizon, Overtone and Wargasm (IIT Roorkee)
Semi-finalists at: Strawberry Fields (NLS Bangalore), Mood Indigo (IIT- Mumbai). Other performances include: IIT Kanpur, IIM Lucknow, Zenzi, The Navi Mumbai Festival, Musicians' Mall, Not Just Jazz by the Bay and Café Goa. We competed at Independence rock 2009 and received good reviews. We were invited by TV9 on Independence Day to perform our song 'Mushroom-cloud Warrior', which was aired live.
These gigs have been over the span of a year. We have had good exposure in the underground rock-music circuit and are developing a steadily-growing and loyal fan-base.

We are currently working on 3 more originals namely, Dipraved mind-frame, The Hedonist and Baytooth and are looking to release a 6-song EP by Feb- 2010. We have had 4 bass-players so far, namely, Nupur, Tejas (Kastadyne), Anjo (Zodiac) and more recently Orenstein (Atmosfear). Orenstein is currently playing live shows with us.
