It was a random evening in 2005 that led to the fateful meeting of Mr. P and Psycho; the two happened to bump into each other at a musical instrument store and began jamming aimlessly. As these rendezvous grew more frequent, unbeknownst to the duo, a phenomenon was about to be born. Yearning for something more, Mr. P and Psycho decided to name that singularity Nikotin despite not having all the pieces.
However, in February 2008, through a common friend they were introduced to their youngest mate Charlie (rhythm guitar) and later brought in another close friend, their now bassist, Dirty. The jamming continued and some originals were created but the puzzle was still incomplete. Unanimously it was decided that Nikotin was missing a key element, until February 2009 when they acquired their lead vocalist Cruize, an active vocalist and guitarist for another local Metal band.
Cruize, together with Mr. P, Psycho, Charlie and Dirty, having had their fair share of mismatched line-ups, were ready to take over the music world with their mellow pop and extreme metal influenced rock alternative sound. Kicking off with a series of gigs and live shows, by performing at the Dubai Autodrome race pits, Nikotin haven't looked back since. Bigger things were awaiting them as Nikotin went on to open for Ramzi at LiveNation's UndeRage, which was soon followed by a show at the F1 FanZone for the launch of the AbuDhabi Grand Prix - Yas Marina Circuit (Abu Dhabi), performing at the Dubai Sound City festival & the Emirates Class 1 Powerboat Grand Prix.
On 5th February 2010, Nikotin opened up for Canadian Rock band, NICKELBACK at the Middle East's biggest bike expo, Gulf Bike festival 2010 & followed that up by supporting Brit alternative rock band, MAXIMO PARK at the premiere wake board & music festival - WAKESTOCK AbuDhabi 2010 on 5th March 2010
They released their first original Dance, Dance on their MySpace page and received a whopping 600 views in the first 3 days alone! Since then, they released Overloaded, Decide and Speedboat, appearing on local Radio & TV shows such as Dubai One's Out & About, 20 Something, 103.8FM etc.

Nikotin are nominated for the TimeOut Dubai Lifestyle Awards for 'Best Local Band' which is scheduled for the 17th of March at Dubai's prestigious 7-star hotel, ATLANTIS

Puma & Mtv (Battle of the bands)
Nikotin battled it out on stage with local pro bands like Point of View, Universal Rogue & Dahab. The event was MC'ed by 104.8 FM's DJ Moe. With the crowd as judges, Nikotin came out victorious winning some expensive goodies from 'Shure' microphones and a 3-track recording studio package

Nikotin managed to bag 5 awards out of 8 nominations which include : Best Vocalist | Best Guitarist | Best Drummer | Best Live Act | Best Original Song ( 2nd runner-up ) - "Dance Dance"
