Presenting socially related issues through lyrics is an added value to the Aftermiles. Their debut album, titled Kids on Riot, is a compilation of thoughts relating to their local Indonesian societal suburban lives. The exquisite Rolling Stone Indonesia rewarded 3 out of 4 stars review on the views of intellectual lyrics and attractive music composition. Formed in 2001 in Vienna, Austria, the Aftermiles is a picture of a long journey describing stories of elegant rebellious acts covered by catchy tunes, catchy enough to gain public attention.
Such idealism the band carries goes against the old insecure local Indonesian market taste, the existence of such fresh material has become a grand turning point for the indie music community. Delivering their intense and critical way of thinking, the Aftermiles has been able to create a market more free and respected than the already existing scene of embarrassingly soapy stories.
Their first single "Today" appeared as a hit, and successfully entered the local radio charts, where it sat on the numero uno position for the longest time the public could remember. The second single "Kids on Riot" has been well responded by public, and has become some of the top requested tune on many radio platforms. The first 10.000 copies of the albums have been sold out, and the band is producing another 10.000 copies awaited by the market.
The real highlight is their ability to lose any gap between their stage and the audience.
